10-Day Italian Cruise

.

Norgen and I walked from the port to find wifi and get connected. Incidentally, we found our way up the hills with a gorgeous view of the coast. Look closely, and you will see our EPIC NCL cruise ship.

One of the silver lining of getting lost in a foreign city is the sights and experiences that otherwise you would never had experienced had you just followed the crowd.

Embarkation Day from Barcelona, Spain - Dec 2015

Norgen and I flew from HNL to JFK, layover in Paris, France and then to Barcelona, Spain. Long travel to get to port.

Park City, UT

Rode the coaster... Wanted to go faster but slowed down for Norgen!

Park City, UT
Stood in line for the longest time, only to come down in about 14 seconds. Ok, maybe not that fast. It may have felt as fast to Norgen, begging me to slow down. Knew the camara was near by, so slowed down a bit to flash the "shaka".

The funny thing about coming here was that we came here a day earlier. Thinking the park opened early. Walking around the complex around 10am, we were completely befuddled. Where was the crowd? Just a bunch of workers milling around to get the park ready to be opened for the summer season at 1pm. Seriously? Well, we were told the kids last day of school was this Friday and that it would be open longer on Saturday. So, we opted to hike the trail and have the whole mountain to ourselves . We thought that we may run into a wild animal so we turned around and hiked back down. Wasn't prepared to wrestle some bear or wild lion.....

Pacific Northwest: Washington, Canada, Oregon, California

Wedding in Seattle

We attended a beautiful wedding for Norgen's cousin. The garden ceremony was perfect. It hadn't rain in Seattle for about 40 days. The reception and program went well.

Mt. Ranier was not as cold as we had thought. While driving, saw a baby bear cross our path and then later a deer peeking around the tree.

I really thought it would be much colder, hence our jackets. Any temperature below 70 F, Norgen would feel cold. (she wants to move to Alaska...!!! )

We were told to visit the Richmond Night Market near Vancouver BC. As it was getting dark, we drove carefully through an industrial area trusting our GPS. Clearly thinking we were in the wrong area, we trusted what we were seeing. We followed people walking along the sidewalk watching where they were headed since we still could not see the market. Low and behold, around the buildings and through large parking lot, we came to the market area. We began to hear the familiar sounds of a market (reminds me of the swap meet back in Honolulu, HI). We dared to eat food that we didn't recognize. Pricing seemed to be fare. Until, I hear my wife, Norgen, bargaining prices down to $1 or $2. Brought home for Kiarrah a large "Korean" style "Dora" blanket that somehow needed to fit in our luggage. I always remember to pack light, knowing going home we will have to stuff more things! Maybe that's why I tend to forget some clothing....so when I need a new pants or shirt, oh well, we need to find the nearest outlet mall!

Drove to Vancouver BC. Stanley Park offered a great experience...you could bike, run or walk. Pretty big.

Vancouver, British Columbia

Beautiful, panoramic views...

September, 2012- What a beautiful city! Vibrant, cosmopolitan people with diverse cultures. Traveling from Seattle, WA was a breeze. Driving through the border was very seamless. No hassle at all.

One of my wife's favorite place in the world: Stanley Park. Bike riding, strolling, ocean-gazing and people watching- so much to do! Stunning views of the city.
